Ooops!

Heeya

Yesterday's practise was crap. We didn't do anything productive, except alter peoples names on the board lol. I saw a fish in the pond by my house and it was dead. Maybe I should write a song about dead fish. That'll be cool man. I have been seen as weird, maybe I am, but I am not. I just like to wear what I feel and if I feel like wearing black, well Ima gonna weara black-uh. GOSH! We just found out that we gonna have a new english teacher which really sux coz both of their teaching styles are different. My current teacher is more laid back whereas my new one is more RAHDEERAHDEERAH if you catch my drift. Well I have to go coz I gotta write my bio for YES. If you don't know what that is go on to www.keitepai-youngenterprise.blogspot.com. You'll see a pic of me and regan. Ta ta :D

Smokefreerockquest

Hey Guys...

Last weekend my band competed at Baycourt in Tauranga. We didn't come anywhere but we had fun. Last minute we found out that the screw on the bass guitar fell out (the screw where you plug the lead in that is) so yeah we were stuffed. Luckily the meanest band that was there, Falling Set's Fire from Trident, let me use their bass guitar. The saying, you must get used to your guitar before you perform, certaintly is right. I stuffed up a bit because the strings were too thin but oh well at least I didn't have to do air bass...thanx guys.

The sound quality of our performance was totaly crap. I went to turn up the bass but the stupid sound man turned it back down. Regan, the drummer, couldn't even hear me! Gosh. But that's not as bad as the lighting. Sam, the lighting man, told me that the lighting was basic compared to the other bands. How unfair is that? They so didn't want little ol' Opotiki getting good marks did they? Oh well ce la vie! I had fun and so did the rest of us except for Cameron...he looked soo upset. Cameron, if you're reading this...you rock man and yeah! Even when you make mistakes, it still sounds cool so don't go hating on your self man.

In the mosh pit, we had a few supporters, you guys rock man and you know who you are!, which was pretty cool. There were so many good bands man. I couldn't believe the quality of their performances lol. There was this really kool band who tried to break a guitar but all they did was put a hole in it. Hahahahahaahahahahahahadeeedaaaa. I'm sure our guitar breaking skills are way better! Hehehehehehehehehehehe the SANTANIC CANNIBALS were sooo funny...in a good way! All I could hear were moans and groans from the audience about how heavy their metal is...do you get it? First place was Fletcher, second place was The Escape and third place was FALLING SETS FIRE!!! The people's choice award was to Random but I didn't think that they should have gotten that. They were cool and all but there were better bands coz both of their songs sounded too much the same.

The band that performed last...Trigger Theory I think...were sooooooooooooo kewl. I can't wait till their EP comes out! That drummer guy was sooooo hott. He was the greatest drummer that I have ever seen, next to Regan ya'll. He can bang my drums any day hehehehehehe. Sorry bout that...my bad. We have practise this avo and I can't wait. Hopefully Regan turns up coz she aint at school. If you want to check out our profile on the set have a gawk yuh.

Well ta ta till tomorrow

Who's who

Heya guys...
Welcome to RKanoid's official blog.

We are the only rock band to have come from Opotiki College. We got together at the beggining of March I think and have been together ever since. Regan McGrath, the drummer, and me Samantha Webb, the bass guitarist, were previously in the band WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get). The new members are Cameron Dyer, lead guitarist, and Jared Gullet, rhythm guitarist, and Eleanor Newton, Vocalist.

We have all come from different backgrounds and we all like different stuff. Most of us are into rock but some of us are into RnB and Hip Hop (not me though!). At the moment we have two songs, Every days Tuesday and We're going down y'all. With the help of Miss Liu, our music teacher, and Mr McGhie, our experienced drum teacher, we have created two master pieces (well in our minds anyway).

Rock on man!
Samantha
